If you like Moon Pies, then Bunkie's next novel will be worth the wait!
A Dark Cajun Roux is another wild, wacky ride through the South, this time set in Louisiana's Cajun country.
In fictitious Bayou Emile Poisson, a tiny parish near the coast, the Prefect has a problem...his nationally-registered and federally-funded Oldest Acadian Cemetery in Louisiana is running out of plots, and the old folks in his town are dropping like flies. The town's 1756 charter guarantees burial in the beautiful cemetery to every Cajun citizen who dies within city limits...
A new Historic Preservation Inspector, albeit a Yankee from Maine, comes to town for the biannual cemetery inspection, but discovers some very odd "local burial customs" that smack of corruption. The Inspector knows uncovering a scandal could rocket him right up the career ladder, but his priorities begin to change after an enchanting dark-haired local girl shows him the meaning of "laissez les bon temps rouler."
